DESCRIPTION:A series of special food-based events from January to March 2025\, celebrating the cultures\, cuisines and communities of St Pauls.  \nAll events are free to attend – for adults\, young people\, children and elders\, families and individuals – but some require booking in advance (see event details below). \nFri 31 January\, 3-5pm at The Green Melon \nJoin us at The Green Melon for an afternoon of culinary delight\, featuring samples of the finest local cuisine provided by the best food establishments in our neighbourhood. Come along to savour delicious dishes\, connect with fellow food lovers\, and celebrate the vibrant flavours that make our community so special. No need to book\, just drop by! \nFri 7th February\, 3-5pm at The Green Melon \nExplore hot drinks from around the world\, including local favourites like Somali coffee\, Somali chai\, Moroccan tea\, Kurdish tea\, and sugarcane drink. Bring along your own favourite cultural beverage to prepare on site and share your story as we connect over shared traditions and flavours. No need to book\, just drop by! \nWeds 12th February\, 6-9pm at St Pauls Learning Centre \nBring your family\, friends\, and neighbours to enjoy a feast of delicious food\, live music\, poetry performances\, and inspiring guest speakers. SUMMARY:Grand Iftar at Bristol Cathedral
DESCRIPTION:Bristol Cathedral\, Muslims4Bristol and Bridges for Communities are delighted to be working together to bring a Grand Iftar to Bristol city centre for the third year in a row. On Thursday 13th March\, Bristol Cathedral will open its doors to welcome people from across the city\, to come together and share a meal at this special multi faith event. \nIftar is the time when Muslims break their fast at sunset during Ramadan. It is seen as an opportunity to spend time with friends\, family and people from the wider community. The Cathedral will host the Iftar\, which this year has the theme ‘Belonging and Togetherness’\, and Iftar prayers will take place outside the Cathedral in an adjacent facility. \n“As a charity focussed on building social cohesion\, we’re excited to see faith communities working together in new ways. Sharing a meal and listening to one another’s traditions and beliefs is a great starting point for dialogue. It doesn’t mean you have to agree about everything\, and it’s not about mixing or watering down your beliefs or convictions – it’s about spending time together where you can build on what we have in common. We hope that there will be lots of similar opportunities for people to visit other places of worship during the year.” \nThe event is free\, fully accessible and open to everyone.
