Corporate Volunteering

We currently offer corporate volunteering on our Walk With Me project. If you’re looking for time out of the office with your colleagues whilst making a difference, here’s everything you need to know:

Walk With Me

Walk with Me provides an opportunity for people seeking sanctuary, including refugees and asylum seekers, to meet local people, walk in green spaces and practise their spoken English.  The walks take place up to 3 times a month and usually last for a half day with an average of 52 participants. We walk in a range of locations across Bristol and surrounding areas including local parks, nature reserves, Chew Valley lake, SS Great Britain, National Trust properties and Westonbirt Arboretum.

Training

At least one person from your group needs to attend our volunteer training before you can join a walk. Training takes place every 6 weeks in person at Easton Family Centre, BS5 0SQ.   Please let us know if it is difficult for you to attend and we can arrange an online training session at your convenience.

Benefits for You

  • Help people seeking sanctuary practise their English and feel welcome in our city
  • Enjoy spending time with colleagues outside of the office
  • Meet new people and expand your networks
  • Spend time in nature with physical and mental health benefits of walking

Corporate volunteering £50 per person

Charity of the Year

Inspire your team and choose Bridges for Communities as your charity of the year.

Fundraising with your team is a fantastic way to engage and motivate your staff. Whether it’s through cake sales, sporting events or quizzes, fundraising can be energising and fun.

Members of our team are always happy to come along to team meetings (online or in person) to share stories from our projects and highlight the difference that your support is making.  In addition our Communications Manager is available to provide video or photographic content for any resources that you might want to create and to coordinate social media so that we can amplify your fundraising across our networks and reach an even wider audience.
