After 15 years leading Bridges for Communities, our co-founder and Managing Director, Dan Green, will be stepping back from his role at the end of January.
Dan shares,
“It’s with very mixed feelings that I’m writing this post, because after 15 very enjoyable, challenging, inspiring and memorable years at Bridges for Communities, and after much careful consideration, I’ve decided the time is right for me to move on to a new challenge and to hand over the reins of Bridges to somebody else.
“It’s been such a privilege to help found and lead this charity – from 2010 when Karen and I started Bridges with the help of some brilliant friends and trustees while we were living in Jordan, to where it is today with a fantastic staff team and group of volunteers, making a difference in so many different ways in Bristol. I couldn’t be prouder of the journey we’ve been on together, and I’m going to hugely miss working with all of the Bridges team and our amazing partners across the city.
“In some ways it feels a strange time to be moving on because there is so much need for the work that Bridges does right now. But Bridges is in a strong place so I’m really confident that it will continue to thrive under new leadership, and will continue to play the important role it does in making Bristol a kinder, fairer and more welcoming city.
“At the beginning of February I will be starting a new role with Good Faith Partnership which I’m really excited about. It’s an opportunity to learn new things and work in different ways, on some of the issues that I care most about.
“Until then though, it’s business as usual, continuing to work with the team at Bridges to enable a smooth handover to a new Managing Director.”
We are now accepting applications for the Managing Director role. We invite you to find out more about the role and consider applying.
