Listening Space: ‘The Colston Statue – Five Years On’

May 22 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Listening Space discussing the current state of racism and inequality in Bristol.

Five years on from the pulling down of the Colston Statue, we’ll be discussing questions like:

  • Did the fall of the Colston Statue actually achieve anything?
  • What are the current levels of race-related hate crime in Bristol?
  • What forms of inequality affect Bristolians most?

With guest speaker Temba Mahari, soup and bread meal, and facilitated discussion. All opinions are welcome – the goal is to build understanding and awareness of different viewpoints, not to reach agreement.

We acknowledge that though it is important, conversation is not always easy, so we ask that you read through our Listening Spaces Guidelines for discussion before signing up. We hope to create an environment that is welcoming to all, with full permission to step out or choose not to share at any point in the discussion.

Listening Spaces
